The business environment is very tough. There have been rumors on resource actions and everybody knows that rumors aren't rumors any more.
My ex-dept called a meeting at 5:15pm this afternoon briefing the latest situation, challenge and response. I didn't have a chance to join the meeting. What I heard is "just" to make the resource actions explicit and public. Some colleagues will leave the company by coming Friday.
This is a bad news for the victims. But as I told most people, the external environment isn't that bad and the job market is quite active. It might be a good chance for the unlucky ones to have a change and get new growth opportunities.
