Chiang Mai (Day 2)

Not sure if it's due to a sleepless night on Fri, I slept pretty well in the 1st night in Chiang Mai. Day 2 started with a fresh look & heart.

The local tour was better than expected. Not sure if it's because of the low season, a minibus was used for the tour. The first stop was a hotspring. The scale was small and there were 2 pools. The locals were boiling eggs in the wells. It wasn't spectacular. I think I saw more grand ones in southern japan and northern new zealand.

There was a buttefly landed on a rock. I took several pics and at one point I thought it was dead. But later another person caught and released it.

The next stop was an old temple in Chiang Rai. The temple is 700+ years old. It's interesting to see how a young monk was playing his mobile phone... :)

After that we went for a boat trip at Golden Triangle. We landed at Lao, where some people shopped and got something like local wine, handcraft etc. There were lots of wine made of wild animals like snakes etc.

The last stop was to visit several villages. These people live quite high in the mountains. We altogthere saw 3 tribes. One of them has a custom of having "black" teeth. In fact, the darker the better.

The Long Neck are the most spectacular ones. They were refugees moving to Thailand. The Long Neck have around 50+ people in the village.

Met some lovely kids on the way leaving the village.
