Now this is when medium format film has a strong case:
full length shot of a person at life size is about 70in tall, and @ 200 dpi = 14000 dots vertically ... using 120 film with 2.25x2.25in format the required dpi for scanning is 6222 dpi, stretchy but do-able. Using current 6MP DSLR, the long side has 3000 dots only ... merely 1/7 of the necessary pixels =(
