HSBC report is heavy reading

04/12/2007, 11:13     [Evening News - Scotland]

HSBC'S annual report is so big that the Royal Mail has had to restrict how many its postmen can carry at one time.

The 454-page report, which weighs 1.47 kilograms, includes 133 pages of notes explaining the International Financial Reporting Standards, which came into force in the EU in 2005.

The bank said some of its 300,000 worldwide shareholders had to wait longer to have the document delivered because of its size.
