I got a cheque...

...a $1 one...

...from IRD...

You might still recall that I forgot to pay the 2nd installment and there was a huge penalty (well... huge as compared to zero... in any case... it's sinful to be forgetful...). Somehow I paid the penalty in excess by $1 and IRD seriously, as the letter reads, sent me back a cheque for balance.

After seriously considering the potential damage to society in general and to the bank in particular (and myself), I've decided not to cash it...

I would rather keep it and see if it has any value in the long long future (if I get one) at the end of my natural life... :)
