(1) It's free. Register yourself in http://www.google.com/analytics using your gmail account (or create a new one if you see needed).
(2) Just follow the steps. e.g. you can add http://xxxxxxxx.blogspot.com to use analytics
(3) It will give you a script to be added to your web page. e.g. <script>....
(4) Logon blogger.com and go to settings of your blog. Add a page element of "script". Leave the title empty and copy/paste the script above into it. Save and it's done.
(5) Go back to analytics and do a testing to see if it works.
(6) You can leave analytics and let it run for a day or two and try to learn the patterns, if you want.
Remarks
- You can use it on any web page, not just blogger.
- It won't track traffic it someone reads using RSS (like myself) as RSS reader doesn't execute the script.
- See their FAQ if you have more questions.
Disclaimer
I found the analytics cool to study web traffic. It's not my intention to micro-monitor who's reading. Of course, it seems that some readers come from their company network... :)
