EU fine Microsoft US$1.3-billion

The European Commission has fined the US software giant Microsoft Corporation more than US$1.3-billion for failing to comply with its previous landmark anti-trust ruling. This is by far the biggest fine ever announced by the commission.

The European Commission has imposed a record fine of more than one point three billion dollars on the computer software giant, Microsoft. The Commission says the fine was for failing to comply with earlier rulings that the company should provide information to rival software companies.
