Sunday, March 02, 2008 1:14 PM
The Iranian President, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has begun a landmark trip to Iraq, the first time an Iranian president has visited the country since the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s. His visit comes while the country is still largely controlled by American forces. During the two-day visit, Mr Ahmadinejad is scheduled to meet with Iraqi president, Jalal Talabani and prime minister, Nouri al-Maliki, both of whom have made official visits to Iran since taking office.
