Fw: Letter from McKinsey Global Institute Chairman
2009.02.02
Dear MGI community,
As you may know, McKinsey Global Institute Director Diana Farrell has joined the Obama Administration as deputy director of the National Economic Council and deputy assistant to the President for economic policy.
Diana has had a tremendous impact in her time at MGI and will bring a unique perspective to her new role, combining micro-level insight into companies and industry sectors with a clear understanding of the broader forces reshaping the global economy.
Under her leadership, MGI has continued to build on its in-depth, sector-based productivity studies of economies around the world but also spanned additional, related topics, including capital markets, global economic integration and foreign direct investment, the ascendance of China and India , labor markets and offshoring, the economic impact of demographic changes, health care, and global energy demand. We encourage you to visit MGI's Website for our latest research and our 2008 Research in Review for a summary of our work last year as well as the research projects that we have underway in 2009.
MGI's enthusiasm for providing fact-based perspectives that contribute to decision making on critical management and policy issues remains undiminished at this time of great change in the global economy. In that context, we would very much appreciate your feedback and insight on the work we are doing as we frame our agenda for the period ahead. Please email us if you have any comments or questions. We'll also be reaching out soon to more formally invite you to participate in an online discussion.
Best regards,
Lenny Mendonca, Chairman, McKinsey Global Institute and Director of Firm Knowledge, McKinsey & Company
