BEIJING, July 2 (Xinhua) Bank of East Asia (BEA) (China) Ltd. has been approved by China Banking Regulatory Commission (CBRC) to establish a branch in Shijiazhuang, capital of North China's Hebei Province, according a BEA China announcement on Thursday.

The announcement said that the preparations for the branch are being conducted as fast as possible, and that the branch may begin operation in 2009's second half.

The branch will provide a complete series of services to local enterprises, foreign-invested companies and overseas personal investors, and people from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Island, the notice said.

BEA China was among the first batch of foreign banks to be registered in China. Since April 2007, its 18 branches, excluding the one above, have been offering comprehensive RMB-related services.
