Modern travel is full of horror stories, from the unexpected $216,608 bar tab to having to push your own plane to the gate. Though you may not be able to switch your terrible assigned seat, at least you can learn to pack your carry-on to last 10 days and remember that it's never a good idea to wear a pair of electronic massage shoes - complete with batteries and an on/off switch - through airport security.
