France : Strikes, Protests Set for Thursday

The General Confederation of Labor, France’s largest union, is planning a strike on Thursday (May 27) to protest the government’s plan to raise the age of retirement.
The strike will have a “limited impact on travel”.

France's aviation authority claimed about 10% of flights at Charles de Gaulle Airport and 30% at Orly Airport will be cut Thursday morning because of striking air-traffic controllers.

Air France expects all of its long-haul flights to run on schedule, as well as 95% of their short and medium-distance flights from Charles de Gaulle and 80% from Orly.

Most regional trains and metro service will run on schedule, 80% of commuter trains in Paris, High-speed trains and Metro Services will run near normal.  However, the RER-A fast-speed line and the RER-B, which runs to the capital's two main airports, will run at half service.
