Brought the lens to Nikon.
Initial inspection indicated that the broken part can be replaced and prelim price is HK$800.
They however said it's unclear if other parts need to be replaced.
If I decide to repair, they will call me if the costs turn out to exceed HK$800.
The repair will take 2 weeks.

I think I might go ahead with it but I need the lens in coming few days.
Will probably go again next week.
