Guo Ke

A cup noodle really proved too thin as my lunch, especially in the cold and windy weather. My hunger and weariness made a sound excuse of sneaking out. A large cup of latte and a small blueberry muffic at Starbucks (which was less packed than I expected) costed 35 yuan, which is not cheap at local standard.

Then I took the chance to talk to Bird. Apparently he was doing fine and making reasonable progress. It's good for him.

A small piece of advice though: many people we once know well are just 过客.

Double happiness

Ran into a colleague in the afternoon. He told me 2 good news.

The first one is that he will get married on Saturday. I don't know the customs here and apparently he is sending sweets instead of inviting colleagues to wedding ceremony or banquet. Of course, perhaps there is only a smaller party for closer ones.

The second news is that he is going to leave the company. He didn't disclose where he is heading but I believe the new job will give him more opportunities and exposure.

Good bye, Comrade

Finally I saw the article about ZZY's farewall event on today's China Daily. Apparently the remark on ZZY still sticks to the previous verdict.

Windy Beijing

The "breakfast effect" didn't work this morning. The temperature is between -8C and -4C today and a hotel staff said it is very windy today (Level 5-6). Perhaps it's a combination of insufficient rest and chilly weather that made me feel cold even after breakfast.

My friend Bird is having his 4th encounter this morning. Just wonder how everything goes.

P.S. The office is still very desert...
