Obama's acceptance speech

The Presidential race was called for Barack Obama at 11p.m. on the East Coast, 8p.m. on the West. An hour later he was on stage at Grant Park in Chicago, speaking to the tens of thousands of supporters gathered there. Here are the highlights of his acceptance speech:

The Peak
It's a beautiful day. I decided to have a walk this morning and left home at 9:30am. It took me 30 min to reach the peak, and then I had a light jog of 12 min for 2.25 km to reach the tram station. Sunday might not be a good choice as there were lots of people.

Not in the mood for fun
Last night JRPY and I went to the german beer festival at the marco polo hotel. I went there first and JRPY came later for a short stay and then disappeared early to meet the first lady.
It was at around 10pm and it's pretty late as the show would end at 11:30pm. It costed HK$150 for a beer jar and 1 drink.
There were lots of people. JRPY said he's too old for such an event, like jumping up and down, dancing on the table, etc. I could sort of agree except that it depends on his companion... :)
I still didn't have the right mood for fun but it's good to watch the crowd. The videos ate up my 2GB SD card. Here is one of them:

Burger King @ The Peak
The original plan was to have a nice lunch after the walk/jog at the Peak. But then I saw Burger King, and I changed my mind... :)
I ordered a double cheese whopper with beacon and big portion of fries and coke light. It's very serious but of very high energy content though. From that standpoint it would have been better off to just stay home. I like the meal very much though. In fact, I saw other people eating there after doing exercise (judging from their appearance and "wetness" of their clothes...) Burger King could be very destructive...

Lotus
A nice car dropped by when I was waiting on a minibus. That triggered some discussion with P that medium-old biscuits like us should have been well off enough to own one... Of course, we aren't... :)
P.S. There are always pretty girls in the passenger seats of nice cars. It's quite an exception this time.

Waiting
Shooters was very busy last night. Looks like there were quite many people going there to watch the game of Aston Villa vs Liverpool. Both sides had quite many opportunities, which didn't materialize until the last 10 minutes. Liverpool scored twice to win the game. P was engaged as he placed a bet on correct score.
Among the gang there was a strange pair. The girl came first and the guy came a bit later. But then the guy kept on disappearing and she was just waiting.
