Bird is counting down. It was another extraordinary encounter (42th) with P. Apparently he will soon give up.
On one hand, he is very concerned about P. On the other hand, he thinks he has tried hard enough and has been having difficulties. I shared with him another successful story that I heard recently but I think he doesn't care too much.
Sometimes it's like seeing crocodile tears when hearing his worry about P.
